The Nintendo fans who whispered a collective "meh" at seeing Sunshine may be coming out in force for Galaxy. Obviously that remains to be seen... But it seems strange to say a game lacks direction based on a couple minutes of footage, which is getting raves from most folks it seems...
As for NSMB being "kiddie fest" and not a "proper" Mario Bros. game... Uh... Personally I'd say its the most "proper" Mario game since SMW, seeing he did start in 2D... And second, if by "kiddie fest" you mean "Super Mario is the Mickey Mouse of the computer age" then yes, I agree with you.
NSMB will soon become the 7th main entry in the series to blow by the 10 million sold mark. If you combine the US and Jap versions of SMB2, thats 8, and if you count the AllStars compilation, thats 9. Sunshine wasn't helmed by Miyamoto, but he's back in charge of Galaxy. Don't bet against it being number 10.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
