| TheTruthHurts! said: This is like the 5th price cut thread I have commented on today (not beating ya up JaggedSac, a good read)...but here goes...again. We will all have to wait and see the numbers and financial reports come Jan 2009. I think this cut will keep the 360 even, if not slightly ahead of PS3 this holiday season. Do I think its desperation, NO. But MS is a smart company, Nintendo is doing awesome, and the PS3 is really picking up steam. They needed to do something this holiday to get buyers attention and ensure the gap doesnt close quickly, and this price cut is the answer. |
Ok are you talking about in the US or worldwide? If you are talking worldwide, I don't see how you can be serious about that. The PS3 is going to be outselling the 360 2-1 in Europe, and 6-1 in Japan. Do you really think a price drop in NA alone can outweigh the huge difference in sales those two regions will present?
I don't think its happening. The PS3 is going to sell a crapload of consoles, probably twice as many as last year, regardless of what the 360 does in NA. Do you really believe the 360 can move 5-6million console in NA alone that would be necessary to create enough of a difference to balance out the rest of the world? Like I said before, the PS3 has almost doubled its sales from last year and shows no signs of slowing down. Even if the 360 was $100, I don't think enough people want a 360 to warrant them catching the PS3 WW.
