The conduit is supposed to deliver on the control side.... and from all that has been shown it looks like it will. No PS3 or 360 game will even equal the control quality of a Wii shooter... and Wii shooters have the potential of being more imersive than a PC shooter... so say all you want about story and innovation, but the conduit will still be unique.
And seeing the Buzz and effort put into the game, I doubt Nintendo would prevent them from putting Lan in the game... heck you might even see a nintendo character as a cameo in the multiplayer if the game is quality (samus? =)
and I've never seen anyone care about the story in counterstrike....well...actually... they should put a place/defuse bomb in the conduit, that is a nice motivating senario and surely it is valid in a Human/alien war setting.
