As much as those of us outside of Japan and the US would like a price cut so are prices are inline with each other again i doubt Microsoft can afford it.
At the moment im guessing they believe they can absorb the losses from the pricecut and still turn a profit -- with them probably looking at a price cut early 2009 for PAL regions... a similar strategy to 2008...
