As for Japan, that's one week in which the system sold less than 50,000 and it was still the number one console. Seems like the big N is still riding high to me. And I challenge you to start that Mario Galaxy thread. I'll be there.
Yeah, it is still doing well elsewhere, but I think the same will happen before too long. Mario Galaxy thread? Maybe, if I can be bothered. To summarize, I just don't think they know what to do with it. They are in a dilemma whether to make it a 'proper' Mario game or water it down and make it a kiddie fest like NSMB. Plus, the whole 1P only deal. The controls and everything: I haven't played it myself, but in the last playable form it sounds too complex for most kids (a huge part of the Wii's audience). It has been in development for quite a while now, and the last video they showed at the GDC looked nice but pretty much just the same as what they showed previously at, er, that other show last year.. Look at the sales for Zelda TP...
