I think that the WiiZapper has potential. With the wiimote and nunchuk a known distance apart in the zapper and and fixed in position in relation to each other it must mean that the developers can tell that the zapper has moved in a certain plane and make the on screen character follow the movement. By that I mean if both nuncuck and wiimote more down at the same time it means the player has 'ducked', currently games use the c or z buttons to perform this action. I can just see gamers in their living room, holding the zapper and ducking behind the couch and the on screen character following. I wonder if you could implement a sideways roll in this way, you would need a big living room though !
