all the prophesy said is that he would be great and bring balance to the force.
He did in two ways, DV killed off all of the jedis except two. 2 jedis = 2 sith = balanced. Plus, he completely removed the sith by episode 6 by turning back and killing Sidious.
RE: the prequels, only whiney fanboys that saw the first three with they were kids see so much hatred in the prequels. I think their humor and style fit perfectly with the originals and only love for the whole story.
