The PC gets so much hate because of the culture of obnoxious elitism that surrounds its most devoted followers. It's nothing against the platform itself, but instead its most vocal supporters.

And yet when people talk relatively harmlessly about the PC here, we get a bunch of vocal console supporters who talk nothing but trash about the PC.

Some of it's reasonable, most of it's not.  I find far more mature, friendly gamers in the PC community than the consoles...like the colorful Mr. Y up there just saying "Fuck PC gamers."  That's great.

@IllegalPalidan, in my school bookstore you just go up to the counter and ask for a copy of Windows Vista...my old school had an online system though, where you register and download free programs like Office, and get opt for a $5 CD or something.  Most universities have at least some sort of discount program though.
