FFVI the best FF ever?

I never got the chance to play some of the past Final Fantasy's, but ones I played were:

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA)-- got 3 hours into FFI and never got into FFII...I might get the PSP FFI and FFII..
Final Fantasy VIII (PS1)-- I played one disc and after that, just couldn't get into it, I was 15 or 16 around that time.
Final Fantasy III (NDS)-- I played about 4 hours of it, and my cousin took it back, Now I want to own it for myself!
Final Fantasy X (PS2)-- Simply the best of the best!! I love it and completed it and about to purchase it again to have in my gaming collection and play it again and again too!! Simply my favorite of all time.
Final Fantasy X-2 (PS2)-- I loved it, just kinda bored how it was girls, but totally enjoyed it and I wanted to figure out what happened to Tidus!!
Final Fantasy XII (PS2)--Played it 3 times and took it back those 3 times. I played a average of 3 hours per time. And totally couldn't get hooked. I now want to rebuy the game and play through it again. Only thing is that I watched the cutscenes on Youtube.com and kinda regret because I know the story. But the battle system in FFXII is awesome!!
