Hmm, let's see...

  • It's still a PS3 exclusive in Japan. PS3's install base isn't too big there, though. Still, it will get a significant number for the PS3 from Japan.
  • The series is 'connected' to Playstation. No, GTA isn't a good example here; it was for one generation only and the games were later released on the Xbox and PC as well. FF, however, has been a PS exclusive for some time now (excluding the first PS games VII and VIII and the MMORPG one, XI - oh, and the spin-offs).
  • The PS3 version is likely to be slightly, but only slightly, better because of Blu-ray.
  • The PS3 will also get Versus.
  • PS3's install base will probably be close to that of X360's by the time of the game's release in the west. It could even have surpassed the sales of X360. Anyway, install base won't be a problem.
  • PS3's price might be lower than it is now by the time of the game's release.

On the other hand...

  • I wouldn't be surprised if many JRPG fans would have bought X360 already. Thus they would already have a console for FFXIII and will probably not want to buy a new, more expensinve one.
  • The versions have been promised to be pretty much the same (well, the X360 version will probably have more discs).
  • X360 is cheaper.

Sorry if I missed any important things.

One thing we don't know much about is the game engine. The game is being developed on PC but surely they have designed the game for the PS3 so I guess it won't be the worse one at least. Even if they could make the X360 version better, they might decide not to make it. After all, it was to be a PS3 game only. I guess they're really aiming for equal versions but if either version is even slightly better, it'll be the PS3 one.
