PC gaming will never die. This argument comes up every time a new generation starts, then usually (around this time in the cycle) PCs dominate again because the current generation of consoles can't keep up with the tech. It's just a matter of cycles in the industry and technology. Keep in mind also that a new console is a HUGE undertaking, a big leap every 6 years or so while new PC hardware is ever-evolving on a month by month basis.
People have been saying it since the late 90s.
***PC ELITISM*****
Go grab some tissues and cry some more. As a Wii owner I have to go every single site and every thread and listen about how the Wii is baby stuff or easy or casual or too simple and how the graphics suck. It's funny that the same people who whine so much about PC gamer elitism are so eager to turn around and do the same thing to Wii owners.
Well, the Wii perception from you is how PC gamers perceive the PS3/360. Gimp controls, gimp graphics, and an overall dumbed down experience.
As a PC/Wii owner I have the best of both worlds. The best graphics and hardcore experience and the best in person social gaming experience.
