What, no love for Kraid? The cooler, much maligned and oft-forgotten enemy from Metroid and Super Metroid?
What about Mach Rider? Where the hell is he these days?
Snifit has been seen regularly in the later years. Most notably in SMW2: Yoshi's Island and the sequel to that, I believe. In fact, a lot of SMB2 characters made return appearances in the two Mario World games. Wart, though--Wart is the forgotten misfit from SMB2.
Aside from Little Mac appearing as an assist trophy in SSBB, pretty much everything associated with Punch-Out has been forgotten since the SNES days.
