I bought 1,400$ LCD from LG on sale on Black Friday for 750$ with a 40$ mail in rebate. I bought my phone a RAZR because it was a special the phone was free and the other free phone(the standard model) was ugly as sin. My cell phone bill is 85$ a month with 2 phones. I'm not saying this to go against you or anything but a LOT of people wait for sales and price drops just like me. In fact I'd say they were in the majority and a good chunk of those are willing to sacrifice some quality for a few hundred bucks if the difference isn't noticeable. I have plans to buy a PS3, in fact I -like- the PS3 and see some good things for it, but you could hold a gun to my head and I wouldn't buy one for 600 500 or even 400$ for me 300$ for a system is pushing it. 50$ for a game is damn near my limit unless the game is something amazing. In fact 90% of my games are purchased when they hit golden price $19.99 or even later from places like half.com for $9.99. Sony has said the pricing for their games will be 59.99 - 99.99 and let me tell you.. I could want the game so bad it kills me.. and I would never pay $99.99 I wouldn't even entertain the thought of it and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I think Sony would benefit amazingly from a big price drop, I just don't think it's possible in light of recent problems the company has had with products(such as laptop batteries). I'd venture to guess it's sales would easily see a 5-15% boost with a 100$ price drop.
