I'm going to slightly retract what I said earlier and throw out an analogy with objects.
If you're so strapped for cash that you have to download games, why don't you go and steal a TV as well?
Well, because you can't do that without getting caught and in huge trouble. You only pirate games because you don't get in trouble.
It's still wrong though, and it still comes down to you taking or copying something without paying the money it costs everyone else, so of course people are going to be angry with you.
