My dad is a U.S. Air Force Veteran, one of my uncles is a U.S. Marines Veteran, another one of my uncles is currently a Major in the U.S. Army and is stationed in Iraq, and my great uncle was the General of the army of Lithuania. My second cousin is currently a Marine and is Stationed in Iraq, and my cousin is currently joining the U.S. Navy.
And to answer your question, as far as I'm aware they have pretty good internet connection on the base I've played computer games like Battlefield 1942 with my uncle while he was on base and he maintained a good ping with my server and everything so I think you will be just fine with connection and shouldn't have to worry about access to the internet.
Oh and I plan on joining the U.S. Air Force either before or after college which might be in just a year for me.
