Spending 80% of the conference talking about games many people on this site don't care about, while having better games to show. Would it have killed them to cut the Shaun White or Wii Music presentations a little shorter, or have Reggie talk at a normal speed so games like Wario Land, MadWorld, Fatal Frame, Disaster, Soma Bringer, the new Kirby DS game, or many others could be shown? I mean they showed two Star Wars games. Why showcase two of them and leave out so many other worthwhile titles to showcase? I am not defending their E3 "showcase" per se. I am defending the choice not to show incomplete footage. Also, I don't think the audiance was the genreal press not the gaming press. Ironically, if you read the AP general article on E3, Nintendo did fine. But if you read the AP videogame writer's article, it reads like a lot of complaints raised here. 2. Not planning their Fall schedule correctly. Nintendo has a lot of studios and normally has good management. There shouldn't be gaping lineup holes come the Fall. It's not just the Wii, the DS isn't getting much either. How many studios are going behind schedule for Nintendo to have such a wide hole with not a lot to fill it with? I know games are coming, but I don't need them all bunched into 2009. One or two more interesting titles would have been nice to have this Fall. Again, this may be a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If Nintendo puts out first-party titles, people sale third-party games don't sell. If they leave a time for them to shine, it seems like nothing is coming out. That being said, they could have held a game back for the holidays -- like Wii Fit. Or it might be that an anticipated game fell through. Remember, Kirby Wii anbd Disaster Day of Crisis were on the early Japan release lists and the former is very late and teh latter is MIA. 3. Some people just are never happy with Nintendo, probably don't own Wii's and found this as an excuse to bash them endlessly or wanted to throw mud in the Wii fans that have been saying, "wait till E3 and you'll see the games." I do not think people were bashing Nintendo for not showing the newly announced games at E3, which include a new game from Team Mario, Team Zelda and Pikmin 3. They were more upset with Nintendo not having much new to show that interested them. Onto Capcom, that video just plain sucks. Capcom should have known better. Nintendo showed Twilight Princess two and a half years before release and it got a standing ovation and looked incredible. This was a very sloppy video on Capcom's part and they should be ashamed for showing it. I really hope this is not the kind of game they plan to release onto the Wii in a few months, because that wouldn't be fair to anybody wanting this game. Regarding FFXIII, I don't think anyone believes it's progressing nicely. Everyone here is convinced the game won't see release until 2010 and are at their most pessimistic regarding it's release schedule. There is some truth is all of what you say. However, I do know that Nintendo was getting some grief from the gaming press for showing basically the same TP two years in a row. In conclusion, I think you're being too sensitive or you just used the wrong examples to paint your picture with. Maybe. But also remember that what I am saying is not based just on what is here but what is found elsewhere. And there are a lot of people who basically find their sport is Wii-bashing (e.g., Game Informer). |

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
