Wifi cost $15.50 in the original iSuppli teardown analysis in 2006.  It is essential for the PSP/PS3 remote play feature.  I don't think the savings would justify the decrease in functionality.  Sony could only remove the HD if they included a 2x or 4x Blu-ray drive.  Many developers use the PS3 HD as a crutch to resolve loading issues caused by the existing Blu-ray drive.  Also, Sony seems committed to digital distribution so they will be pushing more HD space for users not less.  I think the 160 gig sku is unnecessary.  Sony would be better off with a single sku at $399.
