Errgh. Someone should remind those boneheaded Russians that actively asking for trouble from the most powerful country in the world isn't exactly a great course of action. Power politics can backfire horribly against someone who can actually fight back.
And as for casting blame: Russia and Ossetia were guilty of disrupting Georgia's inner workings for years and baiting it to move, and Georgia was guilty of actually taking the bait and attacking Ossetia, plus their nice little ethnic cleansing campaigns in the nineties. And Russia is guilty of whatever death and destruction they decide to cause before they pull back from Georgia.
