I'm disappointed with Sony this generation and don't see myself buying their system at all. They came in with the idea that Blu-Ray and Wireless Technology etc. Would justify the price and purchase of a Video Game system. They found out that without a solid library of Video Games that most people didn't see it their way then they finally do something that shows they may be coming to their senses(announce a price cut around the time that they are going to be getting really good games) Just to find out that that is not nescecarily the case. They plan to use a Harddrive and a game and take away the EE and basically relaunch the system at the price of $600.00. So we're back where we were before. Hmmm... I would not be surprised if by this time next year or sooner we'll be talking about how great it is to get PS3 at $450.00 - $400.00 just to find out a week or a month later that they will be making 120 GB model with a game and no Backward Capabilities at all for $600.00. Just dissapointing. At least by then they'll have some games that would justify the purchase(Hopefully)

Sony did not nesisarily Want you to buy the PS3 right now. They were happy with the success of the PS2 and if microsoft did not force thier hand into the Next gen so early the PS3 would probably just be launching this holiday or next (07 or 08). The PS2 is holding its own still I aplaud Sony they made the system they wanted to make Blu-Ray is a Next Gen format and they decided to go with it since in a 10 year lifespan this will be more important in say 3 years.

I see alot of bashing of sony on these forums and others but the fact is has Playstation never runs out on you after 4 short years Nintendo and microsoft abandoned thier last gen and all the people that bought into those systems. Sony has stated they are in the PS3 for the long haul and why would you have any reason to distrust that. I have my doubts about the lasting power of the 360 and the Wii (to a lesser degree). I am confident my PS3 will be supported for along time.

All this talk of what will happen to price is annoying the fact is we do not know what the price will go to but for now the PS3 is $499 and will be for awhile then we will see what happens.
