sounds like it was originally a good way to determine possible vgchartz admins/writers/affiliates.
having lots of vgmoney proves that you are both
a) active in the vgchartz community
b) good at predicting sales based on data trends
BONUS:
c) not banned all that much
however, i doubt anyone would come out and say this, as it would just cause an ball blistering increase in money whoring, and whining.
also, they let you add avatars, add personal pictures, and the like.
