Perseus tried to use items like a reflective shield and a helmet of invisibility against Kratos and look how that turned out... the helmet stomped flat, the shield in the hands of Kratos and the carcass of Perseus slammed through a concrete wall. Remember folks, Kratos can steal/smash his enemies' equipment.
