yeah yeah yeah, wii domination ends beginning a few months in the future, always and perpetually a few months in the future. Come January it will still be just a few months into the future.

Its just another one to add to the list:

  • nuclear fusion as a practical power source - always 50 years away
  • flying cars - always 30 years away
  • virtual reality - always 10 years away
  • human like AI - always 5 years away
  • Linux taking over the desktop - always 1 year away
  • Wii sales coming to a sudden end - always 3 months away

The funny/frustrating thing about discussing any of these yet to occur events with someone who is convinced they will happen in said time period is that they are never discouraged by the fact that they and/or others have made the same prediction and been wrong before. They have a list of reasons why they think it will happen and are blind to anything that might prevent it.

- Paperless age is always just around the corner.

And

- Wireless age.

I'm still waiting for those two much more than any of those other things (though flying cars and virtual reality would be cool). Nothing makes me more mad than professors that still require printouts of papers... or even worse, printouts of computer science code. Honestly? I have to printout my Java code and hand it in? Holy jeez.

That and until electricity is wireless, I won't be satisfied.

It seems that your wishes have been heard.

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird.
Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.

If laughing is the best medicine and marijuana makes you laugh

Is marijuana the best medicine?

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.
