Spore is probably the one to supposedly interest the 'hardcore' players more than LBP and it will thus sell well anyway (as long as it's good). LBP, however, is definitely going to sell well, the only possible drawback being negative reviews. While it will probably miss the casuals (who it could attract more than hardcore players), it has definitely aroused interest among most current PS3 owners. They'll both be hits (probably). I think LBP is more likely to sell well but Spore has more potential even sales-wise. |
I agree somewhat, when it comes down to gameplay. Spore is really just a giant level-creator itself. Whats the real objective to the game? To advance to the next level of evolution? When you reach the highest point, whats the next objective? There is none, Space Age in Spore is a Sandbox mode. You'll have to start a new Creature. While I'm not saying the game is gonna be bad, like most of the sims games. Which I found had low replayability, Yes, the Sims sold record amounts, but I don't hear of many gamers talking about what they do on the sims 2 all the time. Its just something you play once or twice (in my opinion) for the fun and enjoyment of seeing what you CAN do. But once you do it, it becomes dull. I fear Spore will have a similar fate.
LittleBigPlanet on the other hand, CAN have the same fate. But if objectives are kept fresh. (Imagine a LBP Capture the flag style game. <.<) Then we could have a massive game with incredible levels of replayability.
Again, too early to tell.
