Not only EU have a high number of wealthy people, higher population than North-America, but it also offers bigger potential for growth.
EU in general are experiencing same problems as Japan, which is aging population and this is one of the key points what caused Wii being what it is. Now, if Nintendo manages to tap into the older population, you'll see how much bigger the EU market can be (and this requires more localisation and more delays to be able to serve this public better).

@X360Rules: UK= England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. That makes four countries.
