How do you pronounce pwn?

to me "pawning" someone would imply that I sold them or something... or maybe I take it from chess and I used the smallest of my abilities to achieve victory? either way, it just doesn't carry the proper implications of pwning someone

theoretically though, it should actually be said as "own" because the p merely makes it look like there's a line in front of the o, hence "pwn" actually is meant to give the effect of "|own" but it is also a very slight shift of the fingers to achieve it, much like how "the" is still often unintentionally spelled as "teh" when typing. This is probably the reason why both terms are still in common usage despite their relatively old internet age.

 

I usually use "own" if I'm actually trying to tell someone that I've pwned" them, but when I'm reading it, I'll usually pronounce it as "pwn" just so the different spelling can be heard audially.
