Could it be because its one of the most popular PS3 games, and is probably has the longest (or close to) average session length, hence causing a vulnerable PS3 to overheat?

Or Cod4 is haunted... You know, science or magic - they're both good explanations.

the PS3 is insanely hard to overheat. It takes an enclosed space + hours of gaming to do it. Really same lab tested it under the elements for weeks. The PS3 survived all of it.
