| SmokedHostage said: Platformers is not a very popular genre as it was in 80's and 90's. Customization or not, LittleBigPlanet is in essence is a 2.5D platformer and a very basic one at that. I have a "hardcore" gamer friend who owns a PS3 and says that LBP "looks lame." I doubt most hardcore gamers, outside of those who have been keeping tabs on it, will find this game appealing. Do you truly think jumping on and riding platformers from the start to the end of a level will appeal to hardcore games? I doubt it. Yes, this game offers customization but it will only go as far as the creator will take it. With good levels likely costing money and everything else being crude or average, those without imagination won't have fun with LBP. I think it's very likely that players will make 2 or 3 levels and get bored from the actual work required to make something great as stated above. LBP will be tiny. |
The ability to charge for levels was debunked, so that helps one problem. Your generalization of the hardcore crowd simply based on a single friend is hilarious. So now that you know I'm a hardcore gamer that's looking forward to the game is that whole first paragraph null and void?
LBP will be great. (I make no assumption on sales)
