@jandre: if sony had 10 million as their goal, maybe they were aiming at producing that much for the year, and since PS3 is selling way better than last year, this holiday season may prove PS3 to be supply constrained because they were limiting production to protect themselves if PS3s did not start selling well... (we already saw some of that in the past few weeks that Ps3s were scarce.... taking that into consideration they might have upped production, but as is proved by Nintendo, upping production is not as easy as turning a switch on. Thus giving us a less than optimal holiday season with sales for the last 4 months not quite as high as the sales for the first 8...
@OP, that's what they trying to tell you, you should compare PS3's 2008 with PS2's 2002 and not with 2001... You should compare PS3's 2007 with PS2's 2001, as both were still taking off at that time,
