All I care for are good textures, and it seems Gears of War 2 has the upper hand here. Honestly, the two consoles are pretty identical in terms of graphical capability. It only depends on the developers: better this, lower that, or lower this, better that?

*EDIT: For a comparison, look at these screenshots:

Gears of War 2 (notice the floor, the small cube things on the left and right and the little wall): http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/image/article/889/889122/gears-of-war-2-20080714033209098.jpg

Killzone 2 (notice the gun shield (?) and other wall textures): http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/890/890010/killzone-2-20080715040155663.jpg

From those screenshots, gears looks better, the details on gears are incredeble, just look marcus vs the killzone guy and you can see very easy a difference, but in vids of booth games looks almost the same. I stil thinking than gears looks better, but, killzone will be relase 3 or 4 months after gears, so, the graphics could be better at the end.

With those screens, also, considering "horde mode," scale of the battles, and the destructable environments all running at a smooth clip....I gotta go with IGN here and say Gears 2. It's not just about screenshots. It's functional graphics.

Both games have good graphics, though. I think the existance of Gears 2 pretty much dispells the "PS3 has better graphics, secretly" thing, though. It definitely looks better than MGS4 or Uncharted.

Scale of the battle goes to Killzone 2, destructable enviroments goes to Killzone2,  Gears2 runs below 30fps, and has slowdown which is clear in the videos.  Funcitional Graphics is what Killzone 2 is.  Gears2 is nothing but textures.
