Wiispeak sits on top of the sensor bar and the sound from the TV will not effect it because of noise filtering. However if someone comes in your room and starts talking or a phone rings, the mic will pick that up.

Not saying you're wrong or that you would know the answer to this, but how is that supposed to work?

Essentially noise filtering or cancellation is done by emitting the same pressure as the unwanted soundwave thus reflecting it, mics and speakers have done it for a while. I think they call it Phase Cancellation.

Noise Cancellation, Active Noise Reduction and Antinoise have all been terms used.

Edit: In theory all it would have to do is know what the unwanted noise was and given it's plugged into the system I imagine it could easily tell what sounds the system was processing in it's sound card.
