In some cases, it's for people who can't afford or have the time for a real pet, or even for some who are allergic.

Most of the time, it's really more because it's a game and it's fun.

I could become a plumber and take mushroom and save princesses from horrible monsters. It's just more fun to do so on a video game (and easier too).

Btw, this game looks good. Not my cup of tea but it's definitely not shovelware anymore.
