It`s ok for you to buy new cell for 300-1000$, spent 30$/monthy, but hard to pay 100$ more for ps3? =))
You can`t because you just haven`t see ingame so many PS3 AAA titles, but this year you will see.. and then ps3 will become necessity. 
Well maybe Europeans are crazy, but I don't know a single person who has spend more than $200 on a Cellphone ... most people will get a contract and pay (at most) $100 for a phone
Anyways ... every month after the NPD numbers have come out it seems like I get to argue why the "Next Month" will not be the PS3's month or why the PS3 will not perform well at its current price; regardless on that I have yet to be wrong people keep arguing that the PS3 will be a smash success.
