In case you didn't know, you can check the video game prediction market for the current prediction on how many units each console will sell at http://www.thesimexchange.com All predictions are global over lifetime of the machine: The Nintendo DS is predicted to sell 68.31 million units PS3 to sell 46.40 million units PSP to sell 34.72 million units Wii to sell 62.93 million units Xbox 360 to sell 50.54 million units This only provides you an aggregated quantitative forecast indicating Sony will not sell the most hardware this generation, but doesn't provide you qualitative reasons why it won't. I am personally long PlayStation 3 shares. I think the picture for the PS3 is looking better as Sony attempts to remedy the biggest complaints with the PS3 (such as lack of rumble, lack of DVD upscaling). Although Sony has lost a number of exclusives (and the media has jumped on this), I have read that there are still more third party exclusives in the works for the PS3 than the Wii and Xbox 360 (whether these exclusives are worthwhile is another question).
