Microsofts 2008 RPG gambit - success or failure?

Yeah, and it'll probably take at least 3 first party shooter titles at least to beat the sales of one Xbox360 FPS game - Halo 3. Furthermore Resistance isn't even 1st party, its 2nd party so all that lovely profit is going to Insomniac not Sony. Infinite Undiscovery is owned by Microsoft its in their trademarks and quality doesn't equal budget because Gears of War 2 shoots down that faulty premise like a duck from the sky, and it'll probably outsell Killzone 2 anyway for far less in development costs.

lol, how in the name of god did he even come up with that post? Is old snake the default avatar for trolls, lol? It must be the first sony symbol that comes to mind for them. It's like there's the 3 guys with the old snake avatar that troll all the time, and the guy with the old snake avatar with pink windows paint around him that trolls, and then gets hostile about rebuttals.

Hey Shanbcn, Lost Odyssey exists, also, Resistance wasn't exactly groundbreaking, and at best Sony's FPS "department" is unproven. Now while your assertion that Sony might make more off Resistance and Killzone than Microsoft will make off of Lost Odyssey or Blue Dragon, you've missed the point. See, MS has a "FPS division" too. The got some awesome shooters, plus the jrpgs, which is great for MS customers. While profit is nice, it's even better when you own a console that plays kickass games that were bought by the company, at their loss, to make you happy. It's great when you have great games, and don't have to bargin and damage control things like FFXIII exclusivity, simply because your console's company is trying to stay out of the red.

...and that's just it. For me, Microsoft is my console's company. For you, the PS3 is your company's console. Microsoft is going broke keeping up with Sony, but it's doing one hell of a job. There is no clear superior console. It's just one great machine, and another great machine, both with a bunch of differentiated games. When you try to marginalize the games on one console just because you are a fanboy of a competing company, you degrade yourself, and your opinions. There is no need for fanboyism. It is a pathalogical state. A completely unnecessary and reversable one.

My final question is, how the hell do you think that WKS is equal in quality with Final Fantasy? I mean I think it will be a great game, but aren't you trolling? Don't you just think it will be FF quality because it's a PS3 exclusive and you hope it will be?
