Valve is not tiny, but they probably can't afford to throw away money like some other companies do...if it costs them too much to put updates onto consoles for free, they just can't do it.
Kinda sucks, but overall their games are always better on PC anyway...they're a PC developer primarily and this is just how things go.
Oh and stop lumping them with EA...EA's not in control in any way, they're just publishing the retail versions. So if you say "EA does this" that doesn't mean Valve does that.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
