Nintendo - Answer me fast - View Post

If Nintendo truly wants to follow the new market path it's heading down. There will NEVER BE A PRICE CUT for the Wii. As it stands the market path isn't about price cuts. It's about coming out with a slightly better itteration at either the same price or slightly cheaper to reflect the price in technology and current market.

Think of the Wii potentially as a iPod. How long to they carry the old versions around before they are replaced with the previous selling price replacement. This is the potential path for the Wii.

Instead of seeing Wii, Wii2, Wii3 or Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES, Ninenter 64, Game Cube. We could instead see a shift for the Wii naming convention. These names are complete hogwash make up
Wii Two(HD)
Wii Horizon(head tracking)
Wii Sky(?)
Wii Aurora(Internal projector)
Wii Blue(Blue Ray storage)
Wii Dream(mind controlled games)
......

Each new itteration of the Wii will have new technology and name to reflect the new tech interaction feature. However tech will increase, but price will remain the same relative to the economic consumer. So a price shift will occur depending on the economy capability, needs blah blah blah. This shift however could go up or down.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
