I'm really sad about the comments of some people here. This game is a blatant rip-off of Nintendogs, the same game with a different name. Of course the game can have good graphics if there's nothing going on at the screen. The backgrounds look very bland and lifeless.

Now more than ever my boycott stands, I hope Red Steel 2 bombs badly.

So why does Nintendo get away with making crap like this, but not Ubisoft?
This looks a whole lot more fun than Nintendogs anyways :P

lol @ the guy above me.

Well, Nintendo doesn't "Get Away" with making "crap" ...

Nintendo (probably) looked at the virtual pet concept and thought that it could be taken to the next level on a system that was as powerful as the Nintendo DS; certainly, the DS may not seem powerful to some people but compared to a Tamagotchi game it is a power-house. Nintendo was slammed pretty hard when they announced Nintendogs, Brain Training and Electoplanktin and comments on forums were a lot like "WTF Nintendo! WTF?" At this point in time, Nintendo is given a little more room to make unusual games because of their massive success (and how enjoyable some of these games are) and yet when Wii Music is announced comments on forums were a lot like "WTF Nintendo! WTF?"

Now, I don't agree with trestres that this is a blantent rip-off of Nintendogs any more then any FPS is a blantent rip-off of Wolfenstein 3D because it does seem like they're trying to add functionality and take the game to the "Next Level" ... I have doubts that it will be fun (it is a Ubisoft game after all) or all that successful, but (to me) it just seems like the average approach of a large publisher when a developer produces a highly successful new game; they rush out immediately and copy it, with minor improvements.
