I do see it having the longer life span but I do worry about devs being lazy (as many have been this gen to be honest) so that potential may never be realized, it may go way of the gamecube, which was a great system and had many games I loved but honestly very few games to really show off what the system could do and they all came at the end of it's life IE RE4, which because of poor sales went to PS2 and I may get a PS3 and the same thing happens where 360 gets some of the exclusives I wanted but the 360 retains it's exclusives so I miss out on more games in the end.

Yeah, it's always a gamble. But I think as the generation wears on, the 360 is going to really start showing its age. Plus I'd say Sony is the better for exclusives, since they're making so many of their own. I don't know how much of an issue it is for you, but I think Microsoft is spreading itself a little thin by trying to support both PC gaming and the 360, so a lot of their "exclusives" end up on PC anyway. If you're not into PC gaming, though, then I guess they're still Xbox exclusives to you.

That said, I guess it's really down to your choice in games. Personally, I vastly prefer the 360's current and near future library, but I do admire what Sony's doing even if I don't always dig the games so much.

That's the deal I LOVE PC games and 360 has a fair amount of PC games.  The only killer thing to me is that 360 doesn't support mouse and keyboard while UT3 (one of my favorite series) on PS3 has that support and mod support.
