| Sqrl said: @mrstickball, If the PS3 moves 40k units in japan this week that is a success for the game and the PS3 no doubt. Anyone saying otherwise is crazy. How likely is it to hit that number though? The last 4 weeks average sales have been ~13.3k, so 40k is essentially a tripling of sales. I don't know the Japanese markets as well as some of you, so I have to ask if that kind of move in sales due to game releases has any prior precedent? As for being a console saver, in my mind it would need to account for at least some prolonged period of sales increase for it to be called that, and right now I don't think we really have any information to go on. So for my part at least I reserve judgment but I am skeptical that any single software title is capable of being a system saver. |
sales went from 20k to 43k when gundam musou came out, but I think that is a different story. That is 2 franchises in 1 game that have a much more loyal and hardcore following than HGS. Even if they did it is really only double the sales. This was much earlier in the year when PS3 was selling better. I expect something around 20-25k i guess.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
