"nice sentiment, and I do agree that Sony have dealt with (most of) the original problems.
However the fact remains that while MS and Sony duke it out over small points of one-upmanship, Ninty is just sitting back and hoovering up the profits."

Of course the problem with Ninty is that have totally forgotten how to make good games and are now trying to get by on brand name alone. They had a disastrous E3, their outing in Leipzig hasn't been any more impressive. And people aren't going to continue to buy the the Wii for the types of games that they've decided to put on the market in recent months. Mediocre reviews for Animal Crossing and Wii Music during the holidays combined with rave reviews for Little Big Planet and Resistance 2 would start to generate steam for the PS3 and with the possibility of a $299.99 PS3 on the market with Blu-Ray and a 40 GB hard drive, and you have a situation where the PS3 could begin to dominate in all territories the way the Wii has been doing so far. At any rate, Nintendo is going to have to cut the price of the Wii and make sure that they have a steady supply of units in the stores to compete with a $199.99 360 and a $299.99 PS3 ($250.00 if Sony decides to release a hard drive optional version).

How can you claim that a company has already sold 50% more systems than they did in the previous generation is "trying to get by on brand name alone"?

How can you claim that a company that has produced games like Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl has "totally forgotten how to make good games"?

Certainly Nintendo's short term plans are less than amazing, but we don't really know what their long term plans are but we do know they have several big games on the horizon and some of them may be released within 6 months. Animal Crossing: City Folk will get good reviews and (easily) outsell almost all games released for the rest of the year, and many third party Wii titles are not receiving the respect they deserve and will likely outsell the games you think will mater to PS3 owners.
