If Nintendo was so bad to Sqeare, why wasn't there a prob to release the first 6 parts on the NES and SNES back when Nintendo was far stricter with 3rd parties? another reason why the N64 never got FF VII is the one you mentioned: low space on cartridges - it didn't allow Square to make the game as they wanted to.
