Time will tell how well it does, all we can tell right now is it isn't the PS3 savior Sony fanboys believed it would be.
I think you must be very selective with regard to PS3 (/Sony) fans you choose! Most of the time I read comments on how Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy are the major PS3 corkers for Japan, not Hot Shot Golf. Actually I only recently learned about this game, but it looks very nice judging from trailers.
On the other hand Blue Dragon was very often put forth by XBox 360 fans as the savior of the platform in Japan.
That was supposed to be the major kickstarter for the platform and although it's the XBox 360's best sold game
for Japan its first week sales were far below the 150K suggested here. According to VGChartz data it was only
83K for its first week.
