I do not have to have played GOW to know that being a dead immortal is an oxymoron in the way you are using it

 

Elvis is a dead immortal in the sense that he was mortal but his legacy will live on those giving him a shadow of true immortalality

 Situation:

Kratos walks up behind Ares and stabs him in the back. Ares turns and kills Kratos. Ares = immortal. Unkillable.

Kratos acends and becomes a god. Ares =/= immortal anymore.

Perfect sense. play the game.
