Remember that 360 is dead in Japan, so any momentum gained by the realease of Tales will be probably lost in 2 weeks. lets say that there were shortages when Namco released Tales Of Symphonia on Gamecube. Would this factor increase the hype/sales for Gamecube? I don't think so. If a console is dead in a region for 3 years then a shortages trick doesn't do any good or any difference in my opinion. This kind of trick works when the demand is by the hundrends of thousands. |
All Microsoft can do right now is change the game plan and hope it works. At least you understood what I meant by the shortages trick. Its a shot in the dark, but who knows? It's going to take something big win over Japan and Price, JRPG's and Commercialization is all Microsoft has left (To me at least) in its arsenal to turn the Japanese peoples heads away from Sony for 10 seconds. We will find out in two weeks how the drop launch works out. We will also see how it truthfully affects the sales in Japan towards the end of 4th Quarter.
