Unfortunately, the rise on that graph is imaginary, because it neither translates into PS3 being second in total sales now (because sadly for you, the Xbox 360 did launch earlier than the PS3) or ever (since it isn't consistently selling more that the Xbox 360 so will never pass it in total sales). Unfortunately, it's total sales that determine the "winner" because developers usually prefer to target the console(s) with the highest installed base(s) regardless of how good third place is actually doing.

Perhaps a zoomed in version of the graph can help you see my point

http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=Wii&reg1=All&cons2=PS3&reg2=All&cons3=X360&reg3=All&weeks=94

How can you not see from the graph that at 93 weeks after launch the PS3 has shipped an estimated 14 877 947 units of hardware.

Over the same period, i.e. 93 weeks after it's launch, the Xbox360 had moved 11 178 066 units.

The Wii has numbers for only 91 weeks in which it's moved 31 065 756 units of hardware.

Therefore, the PS3 is selling better than the Xbox360, even though it's had to condend with the Wii for all but two weeks of it's lifespan.

This represents a rise over the 360 sales, or do 3 699 881 units not count?
