You do realise that the PS2 was the best RPG system of the last generation, and many of the "Core" gamers who owned the system bought it because of its RPGs, don't you? Since the SNES and Playstation pushed RPGs into the mainstream they have seen growing popularity with each generation ...
They haven't quite seen the popularity of sports games, but you could imagine how many people would complain if a system didn't have any sports games.
