I don't see any practical reason to introduce a DS successor any time soon. It's already defied standard sales trends by having its best year thus far be its fourth one on the market, and it's actually selling slightly better in 2008 than it was in 2007 so far. There won't be a justifiable reason to introduce a successor until 2010 at the earliest, as signs are suggesting that 2008 will authentically be the system's peak year (or possibly its first year of declining sales; hard to say what the next 4.5 months hold).
