I like my devices to be seperate for several reasons.
- More often than not dedicated devices do there job better than an inclusive device.
- More often than not it costs more to have one device do three jobs than three devices do one job each.
- Two words - device failure. If my console was ever to break, I still have my dvd, dvr, and pc to keep me happy. If I was getting all those functions through my one device and it failed, I'd be hooped. Worst of all would be if my super mega media console had a problem that the manufacturer felt required it be shipped in for repair - I'd have zero functionality but wouldn't be able to justify spending the bucks for replacement devices, knowing my uber device would be coming back someday.
