What made you choose the Wii has your console of choice to develop your games?

We are big fans of the Nintendo Wii and gamers all around. While there are a lot of games for families and younger gamers, there didn’t seem to be much in the way of 3rd party games for us. And that just seemed wrong, because the system has so much potential. We are hoping to realize that potential.

What makes The Conduit different from other FPS games?

Our Wii specific control input mechanisms, our “all seeing eye” puzzles, and customizable control and heads up display.

Did other games influence some of the gameplay elements in The Conduit?

Certainly Halo and Golden Eye were big influences for their brilliant accessibility.

Tell us more about the game, what can we expect story wise?

The Conduit is an alien invasion action / thriller filled with conspiracies. On the highest level, the story is elegant and unobtrusive to gameplay, and for those that want to snoop around a bit, it is very deep and multi-layered.

What can we expect in terms of multiplayer? Offline multiplayer? Online or perhaps LAN(linked system)?

Our plan is to deliver a solid multiplayer experience both online and LAN.

How many players can we expect from online play?

We are targeting 16 players. But higher or lower, the important thing is that it is an incredible player experience throughout.

Any plans on including bots in multiplayer? Not many games supported bots this generation and they use to be a big thing.

Some of those details are still being worked out.

Can you explain the different modes of multiplayer we’ll be able to play?

The usual suspects: death match, capture the flag, etc. Although, our desire is to give each a Conduit specific twist.

How flexible is the Quantum 3 engine? Is it only good for the FPS genre?

Cirque Du Soleil acrobat flexible. Our engine was designed from the ground up to give us the ability to create many types of games.

Has any company contacted you to licence your Quantum 3 engine?

Many developers and publishers have contacted us. For now, we are focusing on making good games. We don’t really want to become a middleware provider. That doesn’t sound like nearly as much fun.

Will you be using the recently announced Wii Speak for online play?

We are actively pursuing Wii Speak.

Have you guys seen Johnny Lee’s concept with the head tracking device? Have you ever thought of using it in your game as an option?

Yep. That’s super cool. I don’t think it’s quite right for what we are doing. But it’s really neat for sure.

Thanks for answering all our questions
