I think before we worry about this Dead Rising test, we can begin comparing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed come September. Let's see just how different the physics engines are between the two versions and that will begin to give a good picture on what the Wii can and cannot handle. The extra specs in the 360 and PS3 give them the ability to use these more advanced engines, which amounts to more than just graphics. Not every game is going to take advantage of it, but then again, that has been true for a long time in multiple generations.

But the recent layoffs and cancellations at Lucasarts will just provide excuses there. If the physics on the Wii version aren't good enough, the Nintendo fanboys will use that. If the Wii version isn't much weaker than the HD versions, the Sony and Microsoft fanboys will use that.

Of course there may be excuses for Dead Rising either way, but the Lucasarts thing is just an obvious one for that game.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
